Idea Selection in Innovation Management

Declaration of consent

Declaration of consent for the processing of personal data in the context of interviews concerning "Research on Technology-Push - TAS-Framework" by the Institute EnTechnon of KIT

I Information on data processing

Why do organizations struggle in turning promising technologies into success? While in times of Thomas Edison, who was an unspecialized autodidact, groundbreaking innovations were produced on an assembly line. Today's saturated markets make it difficult even for highly qualified specialists to launch new products.

One possible reason for the above described problem originates from the technology push process and is also referred to as the "application selection".  Evaluating the most useful and best ideas according to their "goodness" is the main task of this phase. However, this phase of selecting the right idea or application has been inadequately illuminated, is poorly understood and highly fragmented. To date, there is a lack of validated criteria and methods to deal with the high ambiguity and uncertainty in technology-push innovations.

The TAS framework developed at KIT addresses this gap and provides a practical framework for moderation to support technology push innovations. In order to identify and validate the most promising criteria and methods for the stage of idea selection, the Institute for Entrepreneurship, Technology and Innovation Management (EnTechnon) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) conducts this online survey.
